During the last decade we have seen major advances in the field of Teichmüller dynamics, leading to major applications in algebraic geometry. Theory of quasi-Fuchsian groups and its generalization, the Higher Teichmüller theory, which appeared only recently, could benefit from the same approach. We are planning to look at the interplay between the theory of Hitchin systems, hyperbolic dynamics and the geometric group theory in the context of Teichmüller theory.
